Our school is proud to offer a wide range of extracurricular activities that cater to the interests and talents of our students. Sports and Physical Activities:
- Football with Bright Boots (Years 1-6): In partnership with Bright Boots, our football sessions are designed for students in Years 1 to 6. These sessions focus on building key football skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship in a fun and inclusive environment. Bright Boots provides expert coaching to help students improve their football abilities, whether they are beginners or more experienced players.
- Key Stage 2 Netball: Netball is an exciting and fast-paced sport offered to students in Key Stage 2. Sessions focus on improving skills such as passing, shooting, and teamwork, with the opportunity to participate in inter-school competitions.
- Tennis: Tennis sessions are available to students across various year groups. These sessions promote hand-eye coordination, agility, and teamwork, while allowing students to enjoy friendly competition. Whether students are beginners or more advanced, tennis provides a great way to stay active and improve fitness.
- Power Hour Fitness: Power Hour Fitness is an energetic and enjoyable way for students to engage in fitness activities after school. These sessions include a variety of exercises aimed at improving strength, stamina, and coordination, while having fun in a group setting.
Creative Arts:
- Choir: The school choir welcomes students from UKS2 to come together and explore their musical talents. Choir practice involves singing a wide range of songs, from classic hits to modern tunes. Children have the opportunity to perform in various settings throughout the year.
- Musical Theatre: Our Musical Theatre club allows students to explore the world of theatre and performance. Students have the opportunity to learn songs, dances, and acting techniques which culminates in a termly mini musical production. This activity is perfect for those with a passion for drama, music, and dance, and it encourages creativity and self-expression.
Creative Clubs:
- Knit and Natter: For those interested in crafts and socialising, the "Knit and Natter" club is a relaxed and enjoyable way to spend time after school. Students can learn knitting skills, chat with friends, and enjoy juice and biscuits while working on individual or group knitting projects. This activity helps students develop patience, fine motor skills, and creativity.
- Drawing and Journaling: Our Drawing and Journaling club is an opportunity for students to express themselves through art and writing. Whether drawing pictures or writing in journals, students can explore their creativity in a calming, focused environment. This activity helps students build confidence in their artistic abilities and provides a valuable outlet for self-expression.
- Lego Club: The Lego Club encourages students to use their imagination and creativity to build structures, solve problems, and work collaboratively. This club is designed to inspire students to think critically and spatially, while also developing their social skills as they work together on group projects.
Language and Strategy:
- French and Spanish: Our French and Spanish clubs provide students with the opportunity to learn and practice basic conversational skills in both languages. These clubs aim to introduce students to new cultures and languages, enhancing their communication skills and broadening their global understanding. Fun activities like games, songs, and role-play help to make learning enjoyable and engaging.
- Chess: Chess club is a fantastic way for students to enhance their problem-solving skills and strategic thinking. Whether they are beginners or experienced players, students can learn to play chess, improve their skills, and compete in friendly matches. Chess helps develop patience, focus, and critical thinking.
- Board Games: The Board Games club is a fun way for students to spend time with friends and engage in friendly competition. With a variety of games available, from strategy-based games to word games, students can enjoy the social aspects of playing together while sharpening their strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
Academic Support:
- Year 6 SATs Club: For our Year 6 students, the SATs club offers additional support and practice to help prepare for the end-of-year exams. This club focuses on reinforcing key concepts in maths and English, with the aim of boosting confidence and improving performance in the upcoming SATs.
