Royal Wedding
Royal Wedding Displays
The accumulation of class VB’s ‘Spreading Smiles’ topic was celebrated through the creation of a stunning wall banner which will be displayed on the classroom wall of the Tileagd School in Romania. The children of Tileagd cannot wait to receive the banner when Miss Proctor and Miss Boyd travel out there in the May half term. Each child designed and created a part of the banner which was based on a feature of either Ramsden or Tileagd.
International Week
We have been celebrating International Week, our classes have been to India, Kenya, Italy, Greece, France, New Zealand, Australia, Barbados and Brazil.
Brazil
Class RP have been learning about Brazil as part of International Week. We have done lots of fun activities including learning to Samba, making carnival masks and cooking brigadeiros!

To ‘hook’ the children into our new topic, ‘What have the Romans done for us?’ we did an excavation of the playground to find coins.

Marc Chagall
We spilt Marc Chagall’s famous ‘Paris Through a Window’ painting into 9 equal sections and split the
class into groups of three. Each group had to emulate their section of the painting using either paint, collage, pastel or coloured pencils.
Science Investigation
When Mrs King from Mayflower came, Class RP had to investigate ‘How to keep the teacher’s tea hot.’ We looked at different materials to insulate a beaker of hot water and recorded the temperature over 15 minutes. We then displayed our results using Microsoft Excel.
2D Shapes
We have been learning about 2D shapes.
We made different 2D shapes on the
playground using our bodies.
We then worked out how many
vertices and edges each shape has.

Mr.Cotgrove is Class MM’s Class Governor. He visited us and told us about his work as a police officer.
RP thoroughly enjoyed learning about World War II and are proud
to look at all our work displayed in
the classroom.
Our Teddy Bears

As part of our literacy work we have been reading the story
"We're going on a Bear Hunt" by Michael Rosen.
Following on from our Literacy lesson, we painted
pictures of Teddy Bears in ICT, using a program called
2Paint a picture from our new software program 2Simple Collection.
Class VB
World War II Blitz landscape paintings using poster paints and silhouette buildings.
Chelmsford Police Museum
World War II trip to Chelmsford Police Museum. We experienced what it was like
for a child to live through the war
and we experience a real life air
raid situation in an Anderson shelter.
Anderson Shelters
In Design and Technology we have
been making Anderson Shelters.
Class VB and CW invited some World War II veterans into school so the children could interview them about their wartime experiences.
